Split Old Town
Diocletian's Palace, the Riva promenade, and the cathedral are 25 minutes north via the D8 coastal road. The drive along the Split Riviera, passing through Stobrec and the town beaches, is pleasant and scenic.
Makarska Riviera
Beginning just south of Omiš, the Makarska Riviera is a 60 km stretch of stunning coastline with the Biokovo mountain rising dramatically behind crystal-clear pebble beaches. The glass-floor Biokovo Skywalk (1,228 m altitude) is a must.
Driving Tips
The D8 coastal road through Duće is well-surfaced but can be congested in peak season (July–August), particularly in the late afternoon when beach-goers are heading back to Split. The road is single-lane in each direction with no overtaking opportunities through the village itself. For quicker travel to Split or south to Makarska, the inland D70 road via Dugopolje connects to the A1 motorway and avoids the coastal congestion entirely. Parking at Hotel Plaza is available for guests.
