Not at a counter inside the terminal. Avax runs its own office near the airport, in Velika Kosnica. Our officer waits for you in the arrivals hall with an AVAX sign and drives you there in an Avax car — a private transfer, not a shared shuttle bus and not a remote depot you have to find yourself. The paperwork is signed in the office and your car is parked outside it.

Drive to our office, hand over the keys, and our officer drives you to the departures door — included on every ZAG rental, in both directions. Allow around 30 minutes for the return check and the ride. Tell us your flight number when you book: if you are departing before or after our standard 08:00–20:00 hours we open for your flight, and you can leave the car with us and park free while you wait.

No. You are driven in an Avax car by an Avax officer, in both directions — on pickup and on return. There is no shared shuttle circuit to wait for and no minimum number of passengers before it leaves, which matters most when you land with luggage, with children or after a late flight.

Nothing changes and nothing is charged. We monitor your flight number from the ZAG live arrivals board and adjust the pickup automatically — there is no late-arrival fee. For landings outside 08:00–20:00, add your flight number at booking or message us on WhatsApp at +385 99 800 1135 so we have an officer on shift when you land.

Yes — this is the single most common Avax booking from ZAG. Pick up at Zagreb Airport, drive the A1 south past Plitvice, and return the car at Split (airport or downtown), Zadar or Dubrovnik. A one-way fee applies and is shown before you pay; select your drop-off office in Step 1 of booking. Zagreb → Split is 410 km (about 4 h 20 min), Zagreb → Dubrovnik 600 km (about 6 h 30 min).

About 17 km, roughly 20 minutes by car via the D30 or the A11 motorway. If your trip starts and ends in the city rather than at the airport, our Zagreb Downtown office at Ulica Kralja Zvonimira 37 is the cheaper pickup — city-centre rates carry no airport surcharge.

Yes, at no extra cost. Winter equipment is a legal requirement in continental Croatia from 15 November to 15 April, and every car leaving our Zagreb Airport office in that period is fitted with compliant tyres. Many competitors bill €5–€10 a day for it. If you are driving on to Plitvice, Slovenia or Bosnia in winter, this is the single item most often missing from a cheap headline price.

Yes. Cross-border travel is free on rentals of 3 days or more to Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Italy; a one-time €50 fee applies to shorter rentals. The Bregana crossing into Slovenia is about 30 minutes away, Ljubljana about an hour and Lake Bled about 90 minutes. Take the A1 south and exit at Karlovac, then follow the D1 through Slunj — about 140 km and 1 h 40 min. Leave before 08:00 in summer to reach Entrance 2 ahead of the coach tours out of Zagreb. Many customers pick up at ZAG, spend the night near the park and carry on to Zadar or Split the next day as a one-way rental.
