Your Guide to Renting a Car at Kastela Marina
Kastela Marina is a picturesque meet-and-greet pickup location set along the shores of the Kaštela Bay (Kaštelanski zaljev), a sheltered inlet between Split and Trogir. The name "Kastela" refers to seven small fortified towns — Kaštel Štafilić, Novi, Stari, Lukšić, Kambelovac, Gomilica, and Sućurac — each built between the 15th and 17th centuries by noble Split families to defend against Ottoman raids.
Our Avax officer will meet you directly at the agreed marina location and hand over the vehicle on the spot, making pickup seamless whether you have just arrived by boat or are staying in one of the area's waterfront apartments. The marina is perfectly placed for day trips along the Split Riviera, with Trogir's UNESCO Old Town just 8 km to the west and Split city centre 15 km to the east.
The Kaštela Bay is a calm, family-friendly stretch of coast with long pebbly beaches, crystal-clear shallow water, and an unhurried pace of life. Renting a car here gives you immediate access to Split Airport (5 km), the A1 motorway (10 km), and the entire Dalmatian coast — from Šibenik and Krka National Park in the north to Dubrovnik in the south.

The coastal D8 road runs directly through all seven Kaštela towns and can be congested in summer, especially around the Trogir bridge. For faster travel to Split or towards the motorway, use the D8 bypass or hop onto the A1 via the Klis interchange. Parking in individual Kaštela towns is free and plentiful along the waterfront. Split Airport is just 5 km east — ideal for last-minute drop-offs or pickups.
