This is our second holiday in Croatia, and both times we rented from AVAX. The car was perfect. We traveled along the coast and through the mountains, and it performed very well. They delivered the car to us at the Frapa Rogoznika Port, which was a huge help, because otherwise we would have wasted time and money on a taxi to Split to pick it up (they charged a small extra fee). When returning it on the last day at the airport, the location isn't where the other companies are; it's a bit further away, but they take you right to the airport entrance, which is even more convenient. Renting from them was definitely the right decision.

According to the Avax website, I chose a Toyota Yaris Cross A/T, but there is or similar, but it is not stated which one... So when I picked it up I had to be satisfied with the KIA Stonic A/T. I think the car should have been handed over with a full tank, not 1/4, when I handed over the car, the company received a gift of gasoline for about 200 km. The administrative matters went smoothly, the approach of the employee Marija Perica was pleasant. Thank you, we will look forward to next time.

Split Airport (SPU), situated near the town of Kastela between Split and Trogir, is the second busiest airport in Croatia and the primary hub for exploring central Dalmatia. With direct connections to over 40 European cities during summer, it welcomes millions of visitors annually who come to experience the Dalmatian coast, islands, and hinterland.
The airport has one passenger terminal with a straightforward layout. After clearing arrivals, our Avax representative will meet you near the car rental area and drive you to our nearby office, just a 2-minute ride from the terminal. From the airport, Split city centre is approximately 25 km to the east, while the UNESCO-listed town of Trogir is only 5 km to the west.
Split Airport is ideally positioned as a starting point for road trips along the Adriatic coast. Head north to Sibenik and the Krka National Park waterfalls (90 minutes), or south towards the charming town of Omis and the Cetina River canyon (40 minutes). The airport is also the closest point to reach the islands of Brac, Hvar, and Vis via the Split ferry port.

The D8 coastal road between Split and Trogir passes directly by the airport and is heavily trafficked during summer. For longer journeys north or south, use the A1 motorway which is faster and less congested. Toll payments can be made with cash or credit card at motorway booths. In Split city centre, use the Sukoisan or Znjan parking areas near the beaches rather than trying to find street parking near Diocletian's Palace.
