Gruž Port is Dubrovnik's main ferry and cruise ship terminal, located approximately 3 km northwest of the Old Town in a large natural harbour. It is the departure point for Jadrolinija ferries to the Elafiti Islands (Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan) and for the long-distance coastal ferry route connecting Dubrovnik to Split, Zadar, and Rijeka. During peak season, Gruž welcomes hundreds of cruise ships and is one of the busiest ports in the eastern Adriatic.

The Gruž area has a vibrant local market (every morning except Sunday), an excellent fresh fish market, and a long promenade lined with cafes and restaurants that is far less crowded than the Old Town. From here, you can easily reach the Lapad peninsula beaches (2 km), Dubrovnik Old Town (3 km by car or scenic 30-minute walk), and the coastal road south towards Cavtat and the Montenegro border.
